The support plate has at least one metal, quiver-shaped carbon brush holder (16), whose inner surfaces contain guideways, at least in sections, for axially slidable, laminated carbon brush.Several, opposite inner faces (30,32) of the carbon brush holder are of insulating material, or comprise a coating (34) of an insulating material. Pref. the coating is in strips of plastics of width corresp. to the inner faces to be covered.
