A cartridge (6) slidably mounted inside the car is designed to shoot up into a fixed position in the event of there being a risk of the car rolling, in order to extend an anti-roll guard (5). The top end wall (8) of the cartridge extends essentially at right angles to the travelling direction of the cartridge and forms a fastener for mounting the cartridge in the bodywork.
