PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bit adapter for a torque detector which makes it easy and speedy to measure a torque value, can sufficiently secure the safety of operation even if a shaft is broken, and can be manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: The bit adapter 30 for the torque detector is able to measure a torque value responding to only proper torque of rotation by absorbing and reducing the force of inertia of rotation of an output shaft by engaging one end part side of a shaft 14 with a screw groove of a rotary clamping tool with a shaft receiving base 13 with a screw hole in a freely adjustable state, providing a flange part to part of the shaft adjacently to an engagement part, and interposing a thrust bearing 19 and a compression coil spring 15 between the flange part and shaft receiving base. This adapter is provided with the shaft receiving base 13 and a shaft position restricting means 32 which restricts the position of the shaft across the position of the shaft 14 with the screw groove slightly above the flange part.
