PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyethylene resin composition which is suitable for the spacer of an optical fiber cable by hetero-extrusion forming and which realizes improvement in the surface smoothness of the molded spacer, decrease in color changes and suppression of production of contaminant. SOLUTION: The composition contains a polyethylene resin as the main component and a fluorocarbon resin as an additive component, and the polyethylene resin has 0.01 to 0.3 g/10 minutes melt index(MI) and 0.94 to 0.96 g/cm3 density. The fluorocarbon resin has 100 to 300 deg.C melting point and >=50 wt.% fluorine content. The content of the fluorocarbon resin is 0.01 to 2 parts by mass to 100 parts by mass of the polyethylene resin.
