PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a require quantity of underwater concrete. SOLUTION: In this underwater concrete placing method, after arranging a caisson 1 in the sea (Step 101), among plural partition sections 3a and 3b in the caisson 1, the partition section 3a is used as a placing section. While draining water of the placing section with a gate 21 closed, the underwater concrete 6 is placed inside (102). Next, the inside of the placing section 3a is dried to start placing of atmospheric concrete 7 (103). Afterwards, simultaneously when starting the placing of the atmospheric concrete 7 or after prescribed time passes, the gate 21 is opened, and while draining water of the other partition section 3b communicating with the placing section 3a in such a state, the atmospheric concrete 7 is continuously placed (104).
