PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a chromium-containing cast steel having high damping property and excellent machinability such as drilling property, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The cast steel having high damping property and excellent machinability has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.01-0.1% C, 0.2-20% Si, <=0.1% P, 0.06-0.12% S, 9-17% Cr, 0.3-1.4% Al, 0.5-1.0% Mn, 0.5-1.5%, in total, of one or more elements among Mn, Ni and Cu, and the balance essentially iron.
