PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glove box mounting structure whose appearance can be readily enhanced while reducing its cost. SOLUTION: An instrument panel 1 has an opening 1a therein for mounting a glove box therein, and holes 1d and 1e are provided in the lower portions of the sidewalls 1b and 1c of the opening 1a. Bosses 2c and 2e for hinges corresponding to the holes 1d and 1e are provided on the side faces 2f and 2g of the glove box 2 via base parts 2b and 2d. The base parts 2b and 2d are located at a distance D1 away from the side face 2g inwardly along the longitudinal direction B. The base parts are so formed that the distance between the root of one of the base parts and the end of the other base part is smaller than the distance between the inner walls of the opening 1a. Open stoppers 3 are provided on the side faces 2b and 2d of the glove box 2.
