METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING QUANTITY OF MAKING ICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convert slurry ice water easily to have a desired ratio of ice by measuring the ratio of ice in slurry ice water accurately and controlling the ice making operation of an ice making refrigerating machine based on the measurements. SOLUTION: The system for controlling the quantity of making ice comprises a section 1 for measuring the quantity of transmitted light, a comparing section 2, and a section 3 for controlling the ice making operation of an ice making refrigerating machine 4. The section 1 for measuring the quantity of transmitted light principally comprises a light emitting diode 11b and a CdS cell 11c disposed oppositely on the opposite sides of a piping 11a for detection. The control section 3 controls the ice making refrigerating machine 4 to perform ice making operation when a decision is made at the comparing section 2 that the output voltage from the section 1 for measuring the quantity of transmitted light exceeds an upper limit threshold value, otherwise controls the ice making refrigerating machine 4 not to perform ice making operation.
