Adjusting assembly for head rest

The adjuster consists a retractable pin (34) inside a headrest frame tube (5) engaging with notches in a support (6) in the seat back to set the headrest at the required height. The pin is retracted and released by an L-shaped pivoted lever (27) and a spring-loaded cable (19) running lengthwise inside the hollow rod and actuated at the top of the frame by a push-button. In a variant of the design the lever can be replaced by a curved spring strip which is straighted by the pull of the cable to retract the pin.
