A rotary rake head haymaking machine in which a frame member 1 suports a number of rotating heads 3 is characterized in that at least one tine arm 10 of the outermost heads is detachable from its associated head to lessen the width of the machine for transport. In Fig. 1 the arm 10 is held in a sleeve 11 by a pin 17. A holder for the detached arms is provided on the frame member 1 and is arranged so that the detached arms engage the heads to stop them rotating. In the embodiment of Fig. 8 (not shown), the tine arm 10<SP>1</SP> is pivoted to be movable through 90 degrees and is held in its working position by a catch 33, and in its transport position by a pin 29. In the embodiment of Fig. 10 (not shown) the arms 8 are all secured to a U-shaped plate 37 which is detachably engaged with the driving shaft 5 of the head with the co-operation of a pin 43. |
