PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound, a silver halide photosensitive material spectrally sensitized and improved in photographic characteristics by including the above compound, a method for forming image by using the above photosensitive material and a method for synthesizing a new pigment. SOLUTION: This silver halide photosensitive material comprises a heteroaromatic ring-substituted monomethylene pigment having a specific structure in a silver halide photosensitive material applied to an image-forming method comprising exposing digitalized information to light to provide an image and then developing the image.
