The device enables a rotary element (38) to be movingly connected to the support (12) on which it is rotatingly mounted. The device is characterized by comprising at least one ring gear (48) integral with the support, and at least one pinion (46), which is freely and rotatingly mounted about a shaft integral with the rotary element. The pinion is designed to mesh with the ring gear. The device is suitable for motor vehicles.
