PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder excellent in workability. SOLUTION: The binder 10 is provided with a base member 12 for fixing to the cover of a file, a pair of slender and flexible belt-type pieces 14, a pinching member 22, formed integrally with the base member through a hinge unit 18 and arranged so as to be opposed to the base member by turning through the hinge unit to pinch a document or the like to be filed between the base member, notch parts 24 provided by notching at positions opposed to the belt-type pieces of the pinching member to extend the belt-type pieces to the upper surface of the pinching member, and retaining means 16, 28 for retaining the free ends of the belt-type pieces, extended through filing holes of the document or the like, by the pinching member detachably. In this case, the notch parts are equipped with penetrating parts 24a, through which the root sides of the belt-type pieces, retained by the retaining means, are penetrated, and introducing parts 24b, formed so as to be extended obliquely so that the notching width is widened toward the outside of the pinching member from the penetrating parts to facilitate the introduction of the belt-type pieces into the penetrating parts.
