<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) denture base for injection molding which exhibits excellent safety to an organism and excellent moldability as it has good mechanical properties and remarkably small amount of eluation of the residual monomer in comparison with the conventional heat polymerization type PMMA denture base, and in addition, it can be widely clinically used as it has good adaptability in the oral cavity and is economical. SOLUTION: The denture base which is prepared into a frame by mixing a polar elastomer selected from the group consisting of a polyacrylate rubber copolymer, a terpolymer of methyl methacrylate/an alkyl acrylate/styrene and a fluororubber into a solid polymer in which the PMMA for injection molding is a main ingredient and obtained by the injection molding method is provided. The characteristics are a tensile breaking strength of at least 75.0 MPa, an Izod impact strength of at least 1.62 kg cm/cm2 and a bending deflection resistance of less than 3.00 mm at 5.0 kgf, and in addition, with an amount of eluation of residual monomer from PMMA of less than 3.00%.</p> |
