LINEAR RECIPROCAL DRIVE COOLING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a linear reciprocal drive cooling machine to realize long lifetime of a diaphragm type thin leaf spring for suspending the reciprocating movable section including a piston and low power consumption. SOLUTION: At an observation waiting time other than observation time of an infrared detector mounted on an earth observation satellite, reciprocal drive stroke at the reciprocating movable section is set smaller than that at the time of infrared observation. When a next observation time is known previously, reciprocal drive stroke at the reciprocating movable section is varied depending on the length of observation waiting time within a range where a waiting time loss is not generated so that a cryogenic state of 80K is not sustained at a substantially maximum reciprocal drive stroke.
