PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproducing and recording device whose reliability is secured even under severe temperature environment and whose operability and convenience are enhanced. SOLUTION: The starting of a reproducing operation and a recording operation or the like is propertly controlled by always monitoring the temperatures in the reproducing and recording device and judging whether the temperature is a proper operation starting temperature, a proper operation stopping temperature or a proper operation restarting temperature. Moreover, proper operating temperature ranges are set separately as to the reproducing of information and the recording of information.
