<p>METAL POWER TRANSMISSION BELT : A chain-belt (10) adapted for use in a pulley drive system. The chain-belt comprises a plurality of connected ranks or sets of interleaved links (12, 14) with generally polygon-shaped load blocks (18) between adjacent ranks or sets of links. The load blocks are of generally laminated construction each including a plurality of plates (20). Damping means (22), such as elastomeric members or spring-like 'members (40), are located between adjacent plates in at least some of the load blocks. Preferably each load block incorporates the damping means. The structure is effective to reduce the apparent noise generated upon engagement and disengagement of the chain-belt with the pulley flanges when compared to a chain-belt of connected ranks of links and with laminated load blocks therein but with no damping.</p> |
