PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stay for smoothly making opening and closing motion capable of being mounted between a cabinet or the like and a cover plate pivoted thereon with a hinge in an openable manner, greatly reducing the number of constitutive components and simply and quickly completing their mounting operation. SOLUTION: A fixed fitting 1d and a bearing fixed section 4d are respectively fixed to the inside 5a of the cover plate and the sheathing inside 6a of a mounting body 6 with stop screw 1c, screw 4c or the like in advance, and when continuous pivoted first and second arms 1 and 2 are moved in the direction of the arrow, an axial opening 1e opened to the other end 1b of the first arm is made to execute fitted bearing to an axial lever 1h of the fixed fitting 1d. Synchronizing therewith, an interlocking fit section 4a provided to the other end 2b of the second arm 2 is in a state of fitting to an interlocking rotary shaft 4b built in the bearing fixed section 4d, and this state is maintained by a mounting screw 4e to make the second arm 2 execute common rotation with the interlocking rotary shaft 4b.
