PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material nearly free from adverse effects incidental to the enhancement of light absorptivity and having high sensitivity. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains a silver halide photographic emulsion having a photographically useful compound other than a sensitizing dye adsorbed by 5×10-5-1×10-3 mol per 1 mol Ag on a silver halide photographic emulsion containing silver halide grains having <500 nm spectral absorption maximum wavelength and light absorption intensity of >=60 or >=500 nm spectral absorption maximum wavelength and light absorption intensity of >=100.
