PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film unit equipped with a lens capable of enhancing efficiency in assembling a light shielding frame arranged in two steps, and also obtaining a satisfactory data imprinting function. SOLUTION: In the film unit equipped with a lens with a data imprinting device for optically imprinting the data such as characters and marks, etc., from an exposure surface side in an exposure extent defined by an exposure frame 45, a dark box 19 for transmitting photographing light which is made incident from a photographic lens 7 and then goes toward the exposure extent is formed between the photographic lens 7 and the exposure frame 45, and also, a rectangular two-step light shielding frame 38 for shielding harmful light which is made incident from the photographic lens 7 and then goes outside the exposure extent is arranged, and a date imprinting lens 42 is held by the front step frame 39. Besides, the same effect is obtained by arranging a projection which is almost the same as the two-step light shielding frame 38 in the dark box 19.
