PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unnatural feeling from being imparted to operation sense by suppressing a rapid decrease in reaction applied to an operating rod by a comparatively simple constitution. SOLUTION: In a cable type operating device, an operating rod provided within a cab is connected to a transmission via a control cable 19 wired on a vehicle body 10. The control cable 19 in the vicinity of the operating rod is mounted on the vehicle body 10b so as to be slightly movable in the longitudinal direction via an elastic body 21. The elastic body 21 is provided between a guide pipe 22 fitted and fixed into/to a conduit 19b of the control cable 19 and an outer cylinder 23 which is mounted on the vehicle body 10b and has the loosely inserted guide pipe 22. A vehicle is a cab overtruck, the control cable 19 is gently folded back in a cab front part and is wired on the vehicle body 10b and the control cable 19 in the vicinity of the operating rod is a cable folding back part folded back to the operating rod side from the cab front part.
