PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminous element that has high utilization efficiency of electric energy, high brightness and high color purity. SOLUTION: The luminous element has a luminous substance between a positive electrode and a negative electrode and emits light by electric energy. The element emits light at a luminous peak wavelength of 580 nm or more and 720 nm or less and contains a compound as expressed in the following formula (1) and an organic luminous substance having a luminous peak wavelength of 580 nm or more and 720 nm or less; Formula (1), wherein, A is an organic luminescent structure, B is a substituted group of which isotropic rotation to A is limited by a cubic repulsion between A and B or B and B, and n is any of the natural number 1 to 4.
