PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic wave transducer that optimizes adhesive layer between a case and as piezoelectric ceramic element to improve a propagation efficiency of an ultrasonic wave and prolong service life. SOLUTION: Three projections or more, whose tip has a non-planar shape are provided to a case bottom without making contact with an inner wall of the case, an adhesive for optimizing an acoustic impedance characteristic is applied to the inside surrounded by the projections, so as to fix the piezoelectric ceramic element with the adhesive, in such a way that the element is apart from the case bottom at a prescribed interval with the projections.
