PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk reproducing device capable of executing the reproduction of a disk recorded with compressed voices and video data without providing the device with a special buffer and without the interruption by vibration, etc. SOLUTION: The disk reproducing device has an optical pickup 11, a memory controller 13, a memory 14, a compressed data decoder 15 and a microcontroller 12. The microcontroller 12 is so controlled that the writing to the memory 14 is executed by compressing the data read out of the disk by the memory controller 13 and storing the data into the memory 14 in the case the data is CDDA and by storing the data into the memory 14 without compressing the data with the memory controller 13 in the case of the data exclusive of the CDDA in accordance with the data information written on the disk. The reading out of the data from the memory 14 is so controlled that the data is outputted without via the compressed data decoder 15 in the case the data is the CDDA and that the data is outputted via the compressed data decoder 15 in the case of the data exclusive of the CDDA.
