PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical use image processing unit that can reproduce a color of an image of a photographed affected part of a patient onto a display device and a printer with high accuracy in applications of an electronic medical card or remote medical treatment. SOLUTION: An image of an affected part photographed by a photographing unit is converted into an image independent of a device and a lighting condition on the basis of a color characteristic of a photographing means, after application of proper emphasis processing to the affected part image converted into the image independent of the device and the lighting condition, the surrounding lighting condition and the color characteristic of an output device visually displaying the image are used to convert the affected part image after the conversion into an output image with color reproduction by which the state of the affected part can easily be found.
