PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a received and tuned video signal format can not be reproduced and displayed when the reproducible video signal format of a television receiver having a D terminal is not matched with that of a receiving adapter. SOLUTION: This invention comprises a television receiver 11 having a D terminal 13 for inputting a received and tuned digital video signal, a digital signal processing part 12 for generating a video signal for display by demodulating and reproducing the video signal supplied from the D terminal and a storage and communication part 15 capable of storing and transferring the video signal format conditions capable of demodulating and reproducing processing and a digital adapter unit 21 having a D terminal 24 for outputting the received and tuned digital video signal, a receiving and storage part 25 for receiving and storing the video signal format condition transferred from the storage and communication part and a format conversion means for converting the received and tuned digital video signal format to a video format capable of demodulation and reproduction on the basis of the video signal format condition stored in the receiving and storage part when this format is any format except for a demodulating and reproducing target and for outputting the converted signal through the output terminal.
