PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RS 232C communication interface apparatus that utilizes an RS 232C interface to easily connect terminals to a network so as allow them to make bydirectional communication. SOLUTION: Terminals 2A are connected to input output ports 1A, respectively. A reception means 1B is connected to the input output port 1A and receives communication data sent from the input output port 1A. An address detection means 1C detects an address from communication data received by the reception means 1B. Furthermore, a port selection means 1E refers to a cross-reference table 1D in cross-reference with the input output port 1A and the address to select the input output port 1A to which the terminal 2A to transmit communication data is connected from the detected address. Then the transmission means 1F transmits the communication data via the selected input output port 1A.
