PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a finder device and optical equipment using the same, capable of realizing the effective utilization of space, facilitating the miniaturization of the entire device and switching both of OVF and EVF. SOLUTION: This finder device is provided with an objective lens, an eyepiece for observing a picture formed by the objective lens, a picture display element, an illumination means for illuminating the picture display element, a target lens optical system enlarging the picture based on the picture display element, and a reflection member for guiding light from the target lens optical system to the eyepiece. When the focal distance of the target lens optical system is defined as fT and the focal distance of the eyepiece is defined as fe, they satisfy a condition 1<fe/fT<6.
