PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer illuminator, having a considerably good setting easiness which can be used as a common part. SOLUTION: This pointer illuminator comprises a dial 14, a pointer 16 set to a rotary shaft 11a of a movement 11 and formed of a light-transmitting material disposed above the dial 14, and a unit 1 arranged between the pointer 16 and the movement 11 for bringing light to the pointer 16, thereby shinning the pointer. The unit 1 includes a first substrate 2, a chip LED 3 as a light source mounted on the first substrate 2, and a terminal pin 5 connected electrically to the chip LED 3 and extended from the first substrate 2.
