PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time elapsed until a SGP positioning solution is obtained, starting from the time a power supply is turned on in a car navigation apparatus. SOLUTION: The car navigation apparatus is constituted by providing a data broadcasting reception means, which receives an ephemeris from a broadcasting system different from a GPS. The apparatus is constituted by providing a control means with which the ephemeris received by the broadcasting reception means is loaded on a GPS receiver. When the power supply of the apparatus is turned on, the GPS receiver can execute a positioning computing operation by using the ephemeris received by the data broadcasting reception means, even when the receiver itself does not download an ephemeris from a GPS satellite. As a result, the time which elapses until the GPS positioning solution is calculated can be shortened. |
