PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a silver halide photographic sensitive material excellent in pressure resistance and sticking resistance. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the silver halide photographic sensitive material with at least one silver halide emulsion layer and at least one non-photosensitive layer on the base, the concentration of gelatin in a coating solution used for forming a layer situated farthest from the silver halide emulsion layer side of the base is adjusted to >=6 mass % and a compound which has a molecular weight of <=1,000 and increases the viscosity of the coating solution in the range of 5-15 mPa.s when it is added to the coating solution and the coating solution is allowed to stand at 40 deg.C for 1 hr is added to the coating solution.
