A piston (1000) for a hydraulic brake has a power take-up unit (1100) with a pressure face (1130), and a slip face (1200) interfacing with the power take-up, causing the piston to move through a path (X). A friction unit (1260) is arranged around the slip face linking the cylinder and the hydraulic brake and slip face. A spring (1300) is positioned between the slip face and take-up, pressing the slip face away from the pressure face (1300) towards the pressure release (1130). The spring incorporates one or more rubber units (1310,1320).
