PURPOSE: A method for controlling slip of an automatic transmission vehicle is provided to offer convenience to a driver by automatically holding a shift range at a second speed range when a vehicle slips in winter, to decrease fuel consumption by reducing the output of an engine, and to control traction power by sensing the slip of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling slip of an automatic transmission vehicle comprises the steps of reading a signal outputted from a vehicle speed sensor and the RPM of an output shaft(S100,S110), deciding if the difference between the actual vehicle speed and the RPM of the output shaft is larger than a reference value(S120), holding a shift range at a second speed range if the error is larger than the reference value(S130), deciding if the error is larger than the maximum reference value(S140), and outputting a fuel supply stop signal and an ignition retardation signal if the error is larger than the maximum reference value(S150). By retarding ignition and disconnecting fuel supply, the output of an engine is reduced.
