PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating method which allows garbage to give rise to dissolution, deodorization, sterilization, moisture evaporation and volume reduction at a low running cost, is capable of turning residual slag to safe, clean and easily handleable pure white fine powers, allows the clean execution of bagging and cleanly packaging, and makes the garbage effectively recyclable as a neutralizer for acidic soil and as a fertilizer of paddy fields and upland fields degraded in soil fertility, and also provide a garbage treating device, a soil conditioner and the soil conditioner or fertilizer. SOLUTION: This garbage treating method consists in forming the pure white fine powder weakened in alkalinity by mixing the garbage with sodium hydroxide and/or potassium hydroxide and agitating the mixture to allow the garbage to give rise to the dissolution, deodorization, sterilization, moisture evaporation and volume reduction by the reaction heat and strong alkali to form a strong alkaline slurry-like dissolved matter, then adding a prescribed amount of powder of quicklime and/or dolomitic quicklime to the slurry-like dissolved matter and agitating the slurry-like dissolved matter to cause the dissolution, deodorization, sterilization, moisture evaporation and volume reduction by chemical reaction heat. |
