PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combine harvester which has a thresher D for receiving reaped grain culms at the carriage start end portion of a threshing feed chain 4 and then carrying and threshing the received grain culms, has a pillowed threshing guide 9 for guiding grain culms except the reaped grain culms to the threshing feed chain 4, has a simple and non-bulky structure, and can easily be switched from a travel work state to a pillowed threshing work state. SOLUTION: This combine harvester is characterized by disposing an operation mechanism 20 for lifting or lowering the carriage start portion of the carrying side of a threshing feed chain 4 with respect to a feed chain cover 8 for covering the lateral side of the threshing feed chain 4, and switching the threshing feed chain 4 into a travel work state for exposing the carriage start portion to the upper side of the feed chain cover 8, receiving the reaped grain culms from the reaping portion 2 and then carrying the received grain culms or into a pillowed threshing work state for lowering the carriage start portion from the upper edge of the feed chain cover 8 and forming from the feed chain cover 8 a pillowed threshing guide 9 enabling the manual feeding of the grain culms into a space between the threshing feed chain 4 and a nipping rail 6.
