PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent floating seedlings, defective root taking, or the like, by installing a planting means 7 for planting seedlings in a ridge R and a compacting means 9 for carrying out the soil covering and compacting of both left and right sides of the seedlings planted with the planting means 7 in a common (same) freely shaking transplanting frame 18 and pressing both the planting means 7 and the compacting means 9 with an urging means 22. SOLUTION: This transplanter is obtained by installing a freely shaking transplanting frame 18 in a traveling machine body 4 supported with front wheels 2 and rear wheels 3 and providing the planting means 7 and the compacting means 9 in the frame 18 and further urging both the planting means 7 and the compacting means 9 with the single urging means 22 in the direction toward the ground.
