PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell power generating system, capable of a quick start and of reliable safety, and to provide an operating method thereof. SOLUTION: The fuel cell power generating system is composed of a solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell 1, a fuel supply means including a reformer 2, which reforms a liquid fuel into a gas fuel of hydrogen as a main constituent, an air supply means including an air blower 82 and a regulating system 10. To the solid polymer electrolyte type fuel cell 1, a reformed gas supply lines (64, 66) for supplying a gas fuel from the fuel supply means and bypath lines (65, 66) for supplying directly a liquid fuel as a raw fuel bypassing the fuel supply, are installed in parallel, as well as an interchanging valve 74 as a switching means for changing the line for fuel is installed. |
