PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording medium adaptable to the high speed recording, which is capable of reproducing by a conventional recorder or reproducing device specified for low speed and also unrecordable by the recorder specified for low speed. SOLUTION: For the area A2 and area A3, the reproduction is allowed by the conventional recorder or reproducing device specified for low speed even in the case of the optical information recording medium adaptable to the high speed recording by continuously setting the address (t) as normally with respect to the physical arrangement of sectors. Meanwhile, as to the area A1 whereto the recorder accesses only at the time of recording operation, by preparing discontinuous places 2, 3 or 4 of at least one or more addresses (t) with respect to the physical arrangement of the sectors, the recording operation in the recorder specified for low speed is made impossible since the error is generated at these discontinuous places in the case of being accessed to this area A1 at the time of recording operation.
