SOLUTION: This image input output device has image pickup device 1 picking up the image of a subject 3 placed on a placing table 71 and a projection type display device 7 generating an image on the basis of an inputted image signal and projecting the image on a screen S. When the device 1 is detected to be used, an illumination lamp 4 and a projection lamp 31 are turned on and a changeover switch 26 is also switched to an input terminal A. Thus, the image signal from the device 1 is selected and the video image is projected from the display device 7 on the basis of the image signal.
