PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of light, irradiated from a base part of a wedge base bulb, leaking outside through a slit. SOLUTION: A bulb socket 30 has a pair of holding metal fittings 50, and an elastic holding part 56, enabled to hold a base part 23 of the wedge base bulb elastically, is formed to each of holding metal fittings 50. By forming a pair of slits 46, 47 extending from the opening side to the inner part of a square-shaped case part 36, an arm piece 49, enabled to hold the elastic holding part 56 between the slits 46, 47 elastically, is formed. As the slit 47 is installed oblique to the direction of the thickness of the square-shaped case part 36 at the side of the elastic holding part 56, the volume of light leaking outside from the base part 23 through the slit 47 is reduced.
