PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-diffusing sheet having anisotropic diffusing performance having different diffusing performance between in the forward and backward direction and in the lateral direction so that the sheet can be correspondent to both of the luminance distribution in the forward and backward direction and the luminance distribution in the lateral direction and that the quantity of exiting light in the normal line direction can be increased in whichever the direction, and to provide a back light unit having improved luminance by using the above light-diffusing sheet which efficiently uses rays. SOLUTION: The sheet has a base layer 2 and an anisotropic diffusion layer 3 having a fibrous light-diffusing agent 6 dispersed almost parallel to one another in a binder 5 and has the fibrous light-diffusing agent 6 protruding like a part of cylinders from the binder 5 in the anisotropic diffusion layer 3. |
