PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economize the installation spaces of a brace and a column in a brace frame as much as possible. SOLUTION: In the brace frame in which the braces 7 are installed among the columns 6, steel materials are used as the columns 6 while prestress is introduced to the columns 6 and tensile force is imparted previously. Vertically parted steel bars 6a, 6b are used as the columns 6, and tensile force is imparted to the columns 6 by connecting the upper and lower steel bars 6a, 6b under the state in that the steel bars are drawn near by connectors 6c mounted on the parted sections. The columns 6 and the braces 7 are constituted movably.
