PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program video recorder and a recording medium that can directly use a television program guide acquired from an information communication network such as the Internet to record programs. SOLUTION: The program video recorder is provided with a transmission/ reception section 9 that establishes a communication channel with an information server, a TV 1 that displays television program information provided by the information server, and a control section 7 that instructs the recorder to reserve program video recording in response to the program designation with respect to the television program information displayed on the TV 1.
