PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a field winding, simultaneously with a permanent magnet in a rotor so that a magnetic flux in a gap can be easily changed for improving a characteristic of a generator and an electric motor by controlling the magnetic flux in the gap. SOLUTION: For attaining this object, this permanent magnet rotary machine, which can control the magnetic flux of a rotor by separately arranging a magnetic path for a permanent magnet to pass and a magnetic path for the magnetic flux of a field winding to pass in a rotor core, is provided.
