PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for an I/O operation in a fiber channel node, by which an I/O bus band width is increased, an I/O operation waiting time is reduced, a usage rate in a host memory is enhanced and, then, the numbers of the I/O operations and of other activities, which are simultaneously processed in the fiber channel node, are increased. SOLUTION: In the system, an interface controller writes an FCP exchange ID corresponding to each I/O operation at the specified place of a memory which is functioned to call a logical function to be performed in an ASIC when the I/0 operation is normally and excellently completed and queues an FCP response frame returned from a target node to a host memory waiting matrix in a rare case where the I/O operation is performed in failure. A host computer interrupts a field and processes a function for releasing an error state and a required memory assignment in order to complete the I/O operation.
