PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluidized bed incinerator which can reduce the amounts of CO, NOx, dioxins, etc., by stably burning a fed object to be burnt regardless of the quantity and quality of the object and its combustion method. SOLUTION: A primary combustion gas which ascends in the incinerator from a bed section 2 is mixed with a combustible gas from an auxiliary nozzle 11 in the lower part 17 of a free board 7. Consequently, the temperature in the vicinity of the lower part 17 rises. The primary combustion gas led to the upper part of the free board 7 completes combustion with secondary air supplied from a secondary air supply line 5. Since the primary combustion gas is already heated in the lower part 17, in this case, the gas stays in the free board 7 for a long time in a high-temperature state. Consequently, an unburnt component containing dioxins, etc., is completely decomposed while the gas passes through the free board 7. Therefore, the concentrations of dioxins, etc., in the exhaust gas discharged from the exhaust opening 8 of the incinerator can be suppressed to extremely low levels.
