<p>A magneto hydrodynamic apparatus for generating electrical power comprising: magnetic field generating means for generating a magnetic field (6) within a flowing, conductive fluid, the magentic field generating means comprising an electrical conductor (1) and a control unit (14) to control to amount of current flowing in said conductor (1); electrode means (4) to provide generated electrical power caused by said flowing, conductive fluid in said magnetic field, wherein said control unit (14) is arranged to power said electrical conductor (1) with more power than said generated electrical power and thus to store energy in the magnetic field generated by the apparatus.</p> |
