PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidering machine with a function to store information on current work and a control method for embroidering thereby. SOLUTION: This embroidering machine is equipped with a function setting part 110 which has a work information storing key to output a request signal for storing current work information as former work information by worker's operation and separately a work information calling key to output a request signal for reading the stored former work information, a work information storage part 120 which stores information on the former work, and a control part 130 which stores the current work information of the embroidering machine in a work information storing part as the former information when the request signal to store the current work information as the former work information is inputted from the function setting part 110 and, on the other hand, controls the embroidering machine so as to read out the former work information stored in the work information storing part to drive a mechanism part 140 when the request signal to read out the former information is inputted from the function setting part 110.
