PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus for a disc-shaped plastic molded article, capable of cooling the disc-shaped plastic molded article taken out immediately after molding even if cooling in a mold is insufficient so as to entirely or partially improve the mechanical, electrical and optical characteristics possessed by the disc-shaped plastic molded article. SOLUTION: The portion in the peripheral direction of a disc-shaped optical recording disk 1 is cooled by a blower unit 18 equipped with upper and lower blowers 38, 39 spraying air in an annular shape. By this method, the optical recording disk 1 is uniformly cooled in the portion in the peripheral direction thereof and gradually cooled from this portion along the diameter direction thereof.
