PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bind a block 1 in a cover 2 so as not to generate a deformation on a backbone or a fold in the block 1 to be bound in the cover 2 in a perfect binding machine for conveying the block 1 in a state in which a sagging part 1a is incorporated in a block clip 3 and connecting the block 1 to the cover 2 by adhering a backbone region 2a and/or a side region. SOLUTION: A method for binding a bookbinding block or a temporarily binding book block in a cover comprises the steps or aligning the sagging part 1a of the block 1 on the backbone region 2a of the supplied cover 2 or particularly formed by grooving, pressing the cover 2 to the backbone region or/and the side region of the block 1 to connect the cover 2 to the backbone region or/and the side area of the block 1, and binding the block 1 within the cover 2.
